General Counsel
TARA K. WILSON
Ms. Wilson received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Environmental Policy from American University, Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School, and Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation with a Certificate in Estate Planning from Georgetown University Law Center. Tara has practiced at Howrey, LLP in Washington, DC, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, & Flom, LLP and Morgan Lewis & Bockius, LLP in Boston, MA. She is also a Lecturer (adjunct professor) at Boston University Law School teaching Advanced Estate Planning to J.D. and LL.M. students in the Graduate Tax Program.

Tara founded a family-focused boutique law firm specializing in estate and small business planning helping parents organize their affairs to protect their investments and provide for their loved ones. As a staunch advocate of pro bono legal service, she established a pro bono clinic serving families in northeast Massachusetts and volunteered in the Massachusetts Trial Courts as a mediator and advisor in the Probate Court. She is the Executive Board Legal Advisor for The Mother Connection, Inc., a non-profit organization serving over 500 families in the Merrimack Valley and served on the Board of Directors for the Professional Center for Child Development, a Massachusetts non-profit corporation providing early intervention and therapeutic services to over 1400 children.

Tara is also the author of "Trustworthy: Enlightened Estate Planning," published by New Degree Press in 2020. It takes readers on a journey to adjust their mindset to one of positive autonomy in life, rather than fearful procrastination and avoidance surrounding death. The book provides an overview of trusts, why they are not just for the wealthy, and how the average American family should use trusts in their estate planning.

As a result of these accomplishments and commitments, Tara has been designated as an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. Tara has also received nominations for the "Top Women of Law" award from Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. In addition, Tara is regularly sought out by various media for her expertise and contributes articles focused on estate planning, financial matters, small business issues, and parenting. Tara has been featured and quoted in Forbes, CNBC, Woman's Day, and U.S. News & World Report.
